I set out to train as an ENT surgeon and worked in surgical training posts in Leicester Sheffield and Liverpool before moving to York in 1999. I realised along the way that I preferred talking to people to operating on them and made a career change in to General Practice in 2003.

I did further training in paediatric then obstetrics and gynaecology and then spent time in GP practices in Escrick and Heworth.

On a Tuesday I often have 3rd year students from the Hull York Medical school working with me.

I live in York with my partner who is a GP in a neighbouring practice. We have two primary school aged children. When I’m not working I enjoy running, photography and baking. We enjoy cycling and walking as a family. I love a good book too.
